Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s project management unit has led to speculations about whether he is stepping into Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s shoes, striving to control the development projects in the state.
The CM’s war room is on the seventh floor of Mantralaya. It was set up by Devendra Fadnavis in 2015 to monitor the state’s development projects. More than 50 projects, including the Samruddhi Corridor, Ring Road in Pune, and the airport in Navi Mumbai, were monitored and kept on schedule from this war room.
