An Israeli strike on a school in Gaza City sheltering displaced Palestinians killed at least 93 people, according to Gaza’s Civil Defense Force. Unconfirmed sources put the toll at 100. Israel’s military said early Saturday that it had carried out airstrikes on a school compound in Gaza City where people had been sheltering.
The military said the school, Al-Tabin, in the AlDaraj neighborhood of Gaza City, had also been operating as headquarters for Hamas. Hamas fighters had been “operating within a Hamas command and control center embedded in the school”. They accused Hamas of using the civilian population as “human shields”.
