Ravindra Dina Sahani, a resident of Road No 16 at Wagle Estate in Thane, died days after getting picked up by the police on Thursday.
The authorities are yet to file a first information report.
Ravindra’s sister Nisha told The Free Press Journal that he was out with some friends on Thursday. In the evening the family received a phone call from the Wagle Estate police, informing them that Ravindra had been picked up during a round-up, she said. “The police informed us that he was not feeling well and that we could take him home. When I brought Ravindra home I saw a lot of marks on his body,” Nisha said.
