The deceased girls have been identified as Khushi Sanjay Khurde and Sheetal Bhagwan Titore. The incident unfolded on Monday, and despite extensive rescue efforts, the two girls could not be saved.
Efforts were promptly initiated to locate the missing girls after the incident came to light. Rescue teams, including police officials, fire brigade personnel, and ambulances, were deployed to the scene.
According to Pune Zila parishad CEO Ayush Prasad, "As many as nine girls drowned in Khadakwasla dam in the Donaje area of Pune. While seven girls were rescued. The two girls were found dead."
