Now, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Tuesday urged the University to immediately withdraw this decision.
Addressing a press conference, senior SAD leader Dr Daljit Singh Cheema warned the Chandigarh-based Panjab University that Punjabis would not tolerate this “discrimination” against their mother tongue. He further added that the syndicate members who supported the decision did not deserve to remain members of the university body.
