SUPREME COURT ISSUED NOTICE TO ED ON ARVIND KEJRIWAL'S PETITION CHALLENGING ARREST, LIST ON WEEK STATING FROM APRIL 29

The Supreme Court in the case observed and has issued notice to the Enforcement Directorate, ED on the petition filed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal against his arrest by the ED in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case.
SUPREME COURT ISSUED NOTICE TO ED ON ARVIND KEJRIWAL'S PETITION CHALLENGING ARREST, LIST ON WEEK STATING FROM APRIL 29

Seeking the Enforcement Directorate, ED's response, the Court posted the matter in the week commencing on April 29, 2024.

The bench comprising of Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Dipankar Datta in its order stated that the, Issue notice returnable in the week commencing April 29, 2024. The Notice is accepted on behalf of the Respondent who are present in the court.

Reply will be filed by on or before April 24 and the rejoinder if any by April 26, 2024.

The counsel, Senior Advocate Dr Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing for Kejriwal, requested for an earlier posting by this Friday i.e., April 19, 2024. The bench declined the same.

The counsel, Senior Advocate Dr Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing for Kejriwal submitted before the court that, I want to show some facts, to shock the conscience of the court. There are some selective leaks.

Further, Abhishek Manu Singhvi requested a short date.

Abhishek Manu Singhvi also tried persuading the Court by submitting that this was an unusual matter where the petitioner was not named in the ECIR or chargesheet. Singhvi also averred that the arrest was to disable the Chief Minister from campaigning.
