The company is exploring opportunities to acquire these assets through the reservation route, wherein the government nominates NMDC to take over mining blocks, rather than through auctions.
"We are a government company and we want to use the reservation route instead of auctions," the source stated, highlighting NMDC's preference for this method of acquisition. However, NMDC has not yet responded to a request for comment from Reuters regarding these developments.
