In a significant boost to the Government’s ‘Make in India’ mission, self-reliance in technology and the vision of transforming India into a manufacturing hotspot for the world, Honda Cars India unveiled the global SUV - Honda ELEVATE, marking the world premiere of the vehicle here on Tuesday. With this strategic move by the premium Japanese auto maker, India will be the first country to manufacture and sell the new SUV globally. While the car has been developed by Honda’s R&D Asia Pacific centre located in Thailand, the R&D team in India has specifically worked on understanding potential target customers through extensive market surveys. To lead the other models, the OEM plans to launch the Elevate in the festive season, with the bookings for the new car beginning in July.
