SIR Keir Starmer attacked the “grotesque chaos” of Liz Truss’s administration as he called for a change of government.

The Labour leader said there were “no historical precedents” to what the PM’s office had done by “tanking” the economy and pushing up mortgages and bills.

In the coming days the nation will “hear plenty of laughable excuses”, he said, but even her own party know they “can’t fix the mess she has created”.

He added: “And deep down, her MPs know something else. They no longer have a mandate from the British people.”
