A MAN has pleaded guilty to murdering a woman who was found dead lying between two cars having suffered “multiple sharp-force injuries”.

- PHILIP DEWEY Court correspondent

He had previously denied the offence, but has now changed his plea.

Nirodha Niwunhella, 32, died on August 21 last year and her body was discovered in Cardiff after police received a phone call from a member of the public who reported a woman had been seriously injured.

Ms Niwunhella was later declared dead at the scene by paramedics at 7.50am.

Thisara Weragalage, 37, of Pentwyn, Cardiff, was arrested and later charged with her murder.

Appearing at Newport Crown Court yesterday, Weragalage pleaded guilty to Ms Niwunhella’s murder.
