Aparecium it isn't: Yobs' graffiti in 'Potter' street

Victoria Street in the Old Town is thought to be the inspiration for Diagon Alley in the series of wizard books by JK Rowling.

Its colourful shop fronts and cobblestone surface make it the most photographed street in the country.

But at least 10 businesses and shops on Victoria Street had graffiti tags spray painted on their windows, walls and doors over the weekend.

One business owner described the damage as “unprecedented”.
