Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has till now maintained silence about the situation in Manipur said on Monday there has been a marked improvement in Manipur due to the timely intervention by the central and state governments. Manipur has been on the boil since ethnic clashes broke out in May last year. PM Modi said the Home Minister held multiple meetings to resolve the conflict.
The Opposition had repeatedly blamed the government for Manipur’s tense situation.
