A DOCTOR says he and his colleagues are facing longer days and weekend working - while still under a five-year 'pay freeze!

Dr Faisal Bhutta, an NHS GP, says he's been working non-stop for months as patients come forward with problems they have kept to themselves during the pandemic.

Now he says the increased workload is leading many GPs to consider industrial action.

"Normally, we get a quieter period in June and July, but it's just been relentless," said Dr Bhutta, who works in Tameside.

"People have been keeping to themselves and not coming forward with their illnesses or problems. Everyone is coming out with things they have sat on.
