Sanderson: Raffi injury will help him to improve

The scrum-half is set to be out for up to 12 weeks after breaking his wrist in the win over Gloucester earlier this month.

Quirke had to sit out the start of the season having had surgery to repair a torn-at-the-tendon hamstring injury in April. And now he faces another long lay-off which rules him out of the Six Nations with England.

"Every player goes through some injury crisis," said director of rugby Sanderson.

"This is the biggest test of any professional sports athlete - how you respond to this as a setback or as a means to get better. We have got reasonably good evidence within this organisation that we are able to build them back and get them stronger.
