A MUM has been told she may only have a few weeks left to live following a devastating Good Friday diagnosis.
Over the Bank Holiday weekend, families across Greater Manchester gathered to celebrate, Joanne Kelly’s loved ones were coming to terms with the heartbreaking news this will be their last Easter together.
On Good Friday, following extensive tests, Joanne was told she had terminal cancer. The 35-yearold nursery nurse was planning her wedding to her partner of 12 years Chris Wright, 33.
But during what should have been the happiest time of her life, Joanne began suffering with a persistent cough and pains throughout her body.
After several trips to the doctor, she was admitted to Fairfield Hospital. She went to Royal Oldham on March, 19 where she underwent a bone marrow test.
Her condition deteriorated rapidly. And just over a week later, Joanne was given the devastating news she had secondary bone cancer – a cancer that has started in another part of the body and has spread to the bone via the bloodstream or lymph nodes.
On Saturday, Joanne’s wider family and friends were told she may only have two to three weeks left. While other children opened their Easter eggs, Joanne’s 13-yearold daughter Mia was told: “Mummy is so poorly she will not be able to win this fight.”
