Mendy rape trial 'has all makings of a good drama'

JURORS were told they have witnessed an 'extraordinary involving 'money, sex' and 'celebrity' with the most significant plot twist' as closing speeches continued in Benjamin Mendy's trial.

The closing speech on behalf of his co-defendant Louis Saha Matturie concluded during the 16th week of the trial at Chester Crown Court.

Both Mr Mendy and Mr Matturie, who is alleged to be the Manchester City player's 'fixer, are on trial accused of a series of sexual offences including rape, and the pair deny all charges.

Lisa Wilding KC, Mr Matturie's barrister, continued her closing address for a second day.
