Rosie Donohue fell off a bike while riding through Boggart Hole Clough in Blackley on Monday. She was taking part in a cycling session with other children at the time.
Her mother, Louise, said her daughter now requires round-the-clock care as she is unable to move her arms, and has been told she will need surgery.
"Everything was going absolutely brilliant," said Ms Donohue, who runs her own business putting on trips for schoolchildren.
