Giggs Cries In Dock And Admits He's A 'Liar' And 'Cheat'

Ryan Giggs admitted being a 'liar' and a 'cheat but denied he was a 'narcissist' or a 'manipulator' as he was questioned by prosecutors at his trial.

The former United star earlier broke down in tears after recounting how he was arrested and taken to Pendlebury police station after being accused of headbutting his former girlfriend Kate Greville. He is also alleged to have elbowed her sister Emma on the same occasion.

Mr Giggs has pleaded not guilty to both assaults, and also denies behaving in a controlling and coercive manner towards his ex-partner between August 2017 and November 2020.

Mr Giggs was asked how he felt while being questioned by police at his home in Worsley, Salford.

"I was scared, I've never been in that position before," he said. In court he wept after being asked about his night in a police cell.

"How was it?," defence barrister Chris Daw QC asked. "The worst experience of my life," Mr Giggs said, adding that he got 'hardly any' sleep.

Earlier in the Manchester Crown Court trial, Mr Giggs admitted that he 'can't resist women' and had not been faithful to previous partners.
