The petrochemical giant, spearheaded by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, secured a 27.7 per cent stake in United last month. As part of the deal, they have secured control of the club's football operations.
Ratcliffe has wasted no time making his mark, raiding City for Omar Berrada, who has been installed as United's new chief executive, while targeting a move for Dan Ashworth.
The latter is currently on gardening leave from Newcastle United after informing the Magpies of his desire to become United's inaugural sporting director.
