Boy, 15, stabbed to death 'trying to defend his mother'

A 15-YEAR-OLD boy who was stabbed to death at a house in Miles Platting was ‘trying to defend his mum’, the Manchester Evening News understands.

Murder detectives are hunting for the attacker after the youngster and his mum were ‘ferociously’ stabbed on Bednal Avenue on Thursday night. Officers said the man is ‘known to his victims’.

Tragically, the young boy died of his injuries after being rushed to hospital. His mum - who is aged in her 40s - remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Police from Greater Manchester Police’s Major Incident Unit are now searching for the knifeman. He is described as an Asian male who was wearing dark clothing at the time of the attack.
