AN AWARD-winning midwife and a brave NHS worker have gone to wartorn Ukraine to deliver vital help.
Wendy Warrington, from Bury, won the Best Midwife gong at a national newspaper's Who Cares Wins Awards after previous aid missions to the country.
Marta Roscoe, 37, a coordinator at Wythenshawe Hospital, also previously helped in Ukraine with a mixed group of NHS staff.
Marta, who has a four-year-old son and seven-year-old daughter, described the war with Russia as 'absolutely brutal' and said one of the patients, Pyotr, described seeing his neighbours, including children, 'put in a line and shot.
