The plans are a part of 'Eccles Vision, with the shopping centre, market and car park set to be demolished in three phases.
The plans were revealed in January 2023. Council bosses say they're searching for a new location for the market. But the plans have caused chaos among the market traders, with many feeling pushed out of the historic market town.
One trader, Janet Newton, 59, of Kiss N Make-up, said: "I'm devastated, absolutely devastated it is my business, and it's my livelihood." Janet's been on the market for 12 years and says she feels as though she and other traders are being forgotten in the new plans.
