Inquest to probe fire tragedy

Afolabi Oluwafemi Ojerinde, 48, died in hospital after suffering severe burns in the incident at the Tesco petrol station on Victoria Avenue East, in Blackley, on September 4 last year.

An inquest into his death has now been pencilled in for January.

At a pre-inquest hearing last week, Coroner Zak Golombeck said the inquest would look at any care and treatment he received in the 12 months before his death.

Mr Ojerdine had been known to Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust since 2021, the hearing in Manchester was told.
