Costume change costs valuable seconds in All Nations Triathlon
Isle of Thanet Gazette
|May 16, 2025
GARY and Marie Brazier of Folkestone Running & Athletics Club completed their first super sprint triathlon at the All Nations Triathlon held at Dorney Lake in Windsor on Saturday.
-
It consisted of a 400m swim, 20k bike ride, followed by a 5K run. Gary finished in a time of 1.30.21, he would have been quicker but changed into his tri suit after the swim, costing him valuable time. Marie finished in 1.28.08 and said: "We both loved it, the setting was beautiful and the whole race was really well organised."
Usually run in February, the new date provided the runners with beautiful, sunny weather to run the course which is a challenging route around the lanes of Ashford and Eastwell and they achieved some fantastic results. Not deterred by the hot weather, Kirsty Wilson ran a personal best time of 44:13 and won the female race.
