SECOND-HAND house prices increased this year by more than five per cent, according to Ireland's largest estate agent.
Sherry FitzGerald has said there was a notable slowdown on the growth of 9.6 per cent in 2021.
However, this is believed to have been due to the housing market bouncing back from the effects of Covid-19 restrictions.
The estate agency said it was concerned at a 43% slump in planning permissions granted in the third quarter. It described the drop on the same period in 2021 as a "worrying trend".
MD Marian Finnegan, said: "After two turbulent years, hopes were high that 2022 would see a return to normality. Unfortunately, it was not to be."
