Best pals killed as car plunges into sea at pier

TRIBUTES have been paid to two young boxers who were among three teenagers killed when a car went into the water.

The vehicle they were travelling in was submerged at Menlo Pier at the River Corrib in Galway in the early hours of yesterday.

Emergency services pulled the three from the water at around 2.40am but they died at University Hospital Galway hours later.

Boxer John Keenan, 16, and Wojcieck Panek, 17, were pronounced dead early yesterday.

One of John's best pals, Christopher Stokes, 19, was pronounced dead yesterday afternoon.
