We'll keep tragic Eileen's campaign on vaccines alive

THE family of a young woman who died from cervical cancer vowed to continue her advocacy work on the first anniversary of her death.

Eileen Rushe received "heartfelt apologies" and an undisclosed sum from the HSE at the High Court last March for failings in her care at Louth County Hospital.

She died on September 28, 2021, at the age of 35.

Eileen, from Termonfeckin, Co Louth, campaigned to increase the uptake of the HPV vaccine for boys and girls when she was terminally ill.
