STABBED GIRL, 8 FIGHTS FOR LIFE

AN eight-year-old girl was last night fighting for her life after she was stabbed in the neck.

Her mother, 46, was also discovered unconscious at a house near Clarecastle, Co Clare when gardai and ambulance crews arrived shortly before 8 am yesterday.

The girl and woman - both Ukrainian refugees are said to be in critical condition in University Hospital Limerick.

It is believed the child will be transferred to Temple Street in Dublin.
