A GARDA could be sacked after activating blue lights to alert motorists of a crazed driver speeding their way.
The President of the Garda Representative Association raised the bizarre issue and vowed to fight his colleague's corner.
Frank Thornton said the Limerickbased officer was trained as a Competency-Based Driver level 1 which means they are not allowed to use the blue siren lights.
However, the garda felt he had to alert other road users.
