BRYDON CARSE says he is looking to fill the middle-order enforcer role left vacant by Liam Plunkett's international retirement.

The Durham fast bowler (above), 26, made his fourth appearance in Eoin Morgan's one-day side against Holland on Sunday.

But the 90mph quick is looking to secure a place for the World Cup title defence in India next year with a blend of pace and aggression.

"Liam Plunkett is something I am striving to be like," said Carse.

"He had a very good England career and if I can fulfil that role going forward it is a big positive.
