Martin: I don’t see Mary Lou as Taoiseach

MICHEAL Martin has said he does not see Mary Lou McDonald becoming Taoiseach but has not ruled out going into government with her party in the future.

However, he said Sinn Fein should stop filling younger generations with a “poisonous” narrative about IRA killings during the Troubles.

Mr Martin launched a scathing attack on the opposition party and said they should “fess up” about historic IRA violence.

However, the Taoiseach admitted their “narrative” on the conflict in the North may not be something that would become a “breaking point” for a potential political relationship in the future.
