Man, 30, in court on hospital murder rap

Defendant is accused of killing 89-year-old

A MAN was brought to court yesterday where he was charged with the murder of an 89-year-old hospital patient.

Dylan Magee, 30, is accused of killing Matthew Healy at Mercy University Hospital in Cork on Sunday.

At the city’s District Court, Det Garda Maurice O’Connor said the defendant made no reply when he was formally charged under caution at the Bridewell on Monday evening.

Defence solicitor Frank Buttimer asked Judge Olann Kelleher that his client receive all the necessary medical attention he requires in Cork Prison arising out of his “psychiatric difficulties”.
