IRELAND'S legion of Liverpool fans are on the march to the Champions League Final in Paris - but may have to fork out up to €3,000 to see their heroes in action.
The showdown at the Stade de France against Real Madrid tomorrow night is a carbon copy of the 1981 European Cup Final.
And throngs of the club's followers travelling by land, sea, and air will be hoping for a similar outcome in the French capital - Liverpool won that match 1-0 thanks to Ray Kennedy's goal 41 years ago today - but prices have gone up a little since then.
David Moen, from Monaghan, estimated that fans are budgeting €500 to €1,000 to reach the match and that's before spending money on booze which some fans call the "drink tax" and another €3,000 for fans who need - tickets. Dave, 50, said: "There is going to be an exodus. I know lots of Liverpool fans who are going.
