GARDA UNIT TACKLING BURGLAR GANGS AXED

ANOTHER key crime fighting unit is to be disbanded over Garda Commissioner Drew Harris' controversial working hours plan.

The Irish Mirror has learned officers in the anti-gang Burglary Response Unit that covers much of South Dublin have been told the team will be wound up.

We have also established a unit set up to deal with domestic violence in the same area is also to be disbanded.

Sources say the decision to send the officers from both units back to regular duties is part of the fallout from the rosters row one reason for the crushing vote of no confidence against Commissioner Harris by more than 9,000 members of the Garda Representative Association earlier this week.
