GAA CLUB FURY AT AIB CASHLESS BRANCHES

GAA officials have blasted AIB’s controversial move to turn dozens of its branches cashless – branding it an “attack on rural Ireland”.

Club members also called on Croke Park to ditch the bank as a sponsor if it does not reverse yesterday’s decision to stop 70 of 170 branches dealing in cash.

Leitrim club Ballinamore stated: “We are deeply shocked at the announcement. It appears that rural communities will be impacted by a decision from an organisation that calls itself a GAA supporter and sponsor.”
