THE talc in the famous Johnson &amp; Johnson baby powder is being pulled from global sale next year amid thousands of lawsuits claiming it had caused cancer.
The powder - which has already been withdrawn from the US market - will be replaced by cornstarch.
The company has faced thousands of lawsuits alleging its talcum powder caused users to develop ovarian cancer, through use for feminine hygiene, or mesothelioma, a cancer that strikes the lungs and other organs.
J&amp;J insists medical research indicates that the talc baby powder is safe.
However, it said it will "simplify its product selection after sales for the powder plummeted.
