CONOR MURRAY is hoping the introduction of the Tailteann Cup will persuade players to stick around and buy into the Waterford football cause.
Murray believes Waterford have struggled to build due to a high turnover of players in recent years.
Ephie Fitzgerald's side finished bottom of Division 4 this year, but their performances were better than their results as they drew with Tipperary and lost three games by just a single point.
Murray says Fitzgerald is working hard at altering the Waterford mindset.
No easy task when some of the older heads like Murray have managed just one Championship win in their senior careers.
"We tend to feel a bit sorry for ourselves in Waterford, said Murray. "That's something he's (Fitzgerald) trying to get rid of.
