  • Airport has 'jumped gun' with new plan

DUBLIN Airport has been given a green light to charge drivers dropping off and collecting passengers.

An Bord Pleanala has upheld the decision of Fingal County Council to grant planning permission to DAA to develop tolled drop-off and pick-up zones at the airport's terminals.

It comes after passengers suffered large queues and lengthy delays during chaotic scenes at the airport last summer.

However in a statement last night, the Dublin Airport Authority said it had no immediate plans to start charging for drop-offs. The DAA said: "Dublin Airport has no current plans to introduce drop-off or pick-up charges.
