CHRISTMAS could come early for pensioners and those on social welfare as another double week’s payment could be delivered in the Budget.
They may be in line for an extra week’s amount as part of plans to deal with the cost of living crisis.
It is understood that the Cabinet is considering giving the money to 1.4 million people.
The double payment, similar to the traditional “Christmas bonus” given to all pensioners and welfare recipients — is now being considered for the autumn.
