HUNDREDS of Irish Liverpool fans were affected by the horrific scenes in Paris - and some are now imploring the Government to stand up for them.

Fans spent thousands of euro to travel to Paris for the Champions League Final but French riot cops assaulted, pepper-sprayed, and teargassed them.

Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Coveney has now been urged to make representations on their behalf to the French Government, its police, and UEFA.

Supporters from Donegal and Monaghan were amongst those who arrived early to the stadium but were trapped in crushes and robbed.

They were then wrongly accused by French officials of causing the problems by turning up late.
