THREE men who tortured an Irish teen before he fell to his death from a balcony will each spend less than a decade behind bars.
Cian English, 19, was originally from Carlow but lived in the Brisbane suburb of Hawthorne in Australia.
He died after falling from the fourth-floor of the View Pacific resort in Surfers Paradise, on May 23, 2020.
Chief Justice Helen Bowskill sentenced Hayden Paul Kratzmann, 23, and 25-year-old Jason Ryan Knowles, to nine years and six months in prison.
Lachlan Paul SoperLagas, 21, was also sentenced to eight years behind bars at&nbsp;Queensland Supreme Court yesterday.
The trio pleaded guilty to manslaughter which the Crown accepted and withdrew the&nbsp;murder charges. They also each pleaded guilty to two counts of armed robbery in company, two counts of torture and one count of stealing.
Kratzmann also pleaded guilty to&nbsp;entering a premises with intent to commit an offence.
Ms Justice Bowskill said the men's behaviour was "despicable" towards Mr English and his friend. The court&nbsp;heard Kratzmann invited the duo to his room after they met chatting on their balconies.
They partied and took drugs but the assaults began after Mr English and his pal were accused of stealing the substances. In an effort to flee, Mr English ran to the balcony and fell.
