THE number of people reaching out to a suicide prevention charity is expected to rise by 15% ahead of Christmas.
Pieta is also forecasting more than 300 calls or texts to its crisis helpline on December 25 as people struggle with mental health or seek help dealing with the loss of a loved one through suicide.
With more than half of its clients now under 25, Pieta is calling on young people to have "open conversations" with family.
