EXTENDED licensing hours moved a step closer as plans for new extended Nitelink routes were flagged by Transport Minister Eamon Ryan.
His intervention came after Justice Minister Helen McEntee revealed she will soon introduce new bar and nightclub trading times to help kickstart the night-time economy.
The Sale of Alcohol Bill is scheduled to be brought before Cabinet next month.
However, Ms McEntee said it is essential to get transport options in place to accommodate revellers leaving bars at a later hour.
