DEMAND FOR PETROL and battery electric two-wheelers surged in May on account of the on-going marriage season, strong rural market and prebuying to beat the price hike.

Two-wheeler sales jump 50%

Bajaj Auto, TVS Motor Company and Royal Enfield together clocked a jump of 52% in sales volumes during May to 518,300 units compared to the same month last year. Hero MotoCorp and Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, the top two companies did not reveal their sales at the time of going to press.
