Most states want tax revenue share hiked to 50%, says Panagariya

MAJORITY OF 28 states have asked the Finance Commission to increase tax revenue distribution between the Centre and states to 50%, the panel's chairman said here on Wednesday.
At present, states get 41% of the tax revenue while the rest goes to the Centre, 16th Finance Commission chairman Arvind Panagariya said. The panel was here as part of its consultation visit to all states in the country.
