As he prepares to leave No10 next month, the exclusive Ipsos survey also found that 63 per cent thought Mr Johnson's government had done a bad job on managing the economy - a 14-point rise since December 2021.
Only 27 per cent think it is doing a good job the lowest score since the firm started tracking the measure 24 years ago.
Ipsos director of politics Keiran Pedley said: "Rising prices, inflation and the economy in general are top of voters' minds, so it will concern the Conservatives that they are seen as doing a bad job on such important issues."
With inflation hitting a 40-year high in June, millions of households are braced for a squeeze this autumn as energy bills soar and interest rates rise.
