DAVID Beckham has been blasted for praising Qatar in a World Cup video - but not raising human rights abuses.
Amnesty International hit out at the star, 47, who was filmed chatting with former Manchester United team-mate Gary Neville in Doha.
Beckham spoke of the hospitality of the country and friendliness of the people ahead of the World Cup but infuriated Amnesty by not mentioning human rights.
A spokesman said: "It's glossy and full of footballing anecdotes, but it's a shame the film makes no mention of Qatar's long history of labour abuses, its shocking criminalisation of homosexuality or, in fact, any other human rights issue."
The film, for Neville's YouTube show The Overlap, does mention Beckham's &pound;10m deal to be a frontman for the competition. Amnesty added: "When Beckham secured his deal to be an ambassador we said he ought to use his unique profile to keep the world's focus on human rights issues. This feels like a missed opportunity!" Beckham has been approached for comment.
