THE RAF has admitted its ultra-woke recruitment drive favouring women and minorities was a "mistake".
Top brass and defence ministers faced outrage over controversial plans aimed at increasing diversity within Air Force ranks.
They included bringing in a computer system which identified and prioritised ethnic minority women applicants over white men.
Following a review, RAF chiefs have now admitted they got things&nbsp;wrong. A spokesman said: "The RAF is constantly reviewing its recruiting practices... to improve the diversity of its workforce.
"While overall standards did not drop, in hindsight we accept that despite the best of intentions some mistakes were made.

The recruitment chief resigned rather than implement what she called an "unlawful" hiring policy.
Chief of the Air Staff Sir Mike Wigston has since expressed regret at the controversy.
