FORGET airport and ferry chaos – holidaymakers sick of queues could soon swap breaks on Earth for a hotel on the Moon.
Space tourists have already orbited our planet – and there are plans to go a step further with lunar breaks potentially available within a few years.
Hotelier Robert Bigelow claims he could build an inflatable hotel, which could orbit in space or land on the Moon, in three-and-a-half years.
And Russian space corporation Patron Moon is planning a nuclear-powered lunar resort, charging from £8million per three-day trip. The group hopes to open the hotel by 2030 – but that could be delayed by the war in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Orbital Assembly Corporation, a construction company run by former pilot John Blincow, plans to open a luxury space hotel by 2027.
