LEWIS HAMILTON says his Mercedes team “deserve” to be winning races again and intends to savour that success when it comes.
The seven-time world champion arrived at the Paul Ricard circuit near Le Castellet for the French Grand Prix this weekend in the knowledge that momentum is growing as his Mercedes W13 edges ever closer to that elusive first victory of the season.
Hamilton, who will become only the sixth driver in history to have competed in 300 grands prix on Sunday, has scored three podium finishes in the last three races, including in a thriller at Silverstone three weeks ago.
He had the capacity crowd on their feet during a four-way battle for a record-breaking ninth British Grand Prix success and scored the fastest lap of the race.
